Hoopy Loopy

Last week my husband sent me this article. I have totally been neglecting my hula hoop and any workout efforts. The article really got me thinking, and I came up with a plan to start hooping before work every morning. I am soooo unmotivated to exercise, but I want the results, so I pepped myself up all weekend. I made a hoop playlist on my Ipod, and I hopped (okay moaned and groaned) out of bed this morning. Anyone out in my neighborhood at 6:45 a.m. would have seen me in my t-shirt and sock monkey PJ pants rocking out. It's really fun once you get going. Tomorrow, I will overcome laziness and actually wear shoes with laces, as the Chucks without laces did not help with my awesome hoop moves...

My goal is to hoop at least 15 minutes every morning this week, then work my way up. I really want to use my Hoopnotica DVD to learn some new moves, but I have been lazy about setting up a situation where I can play a DVD outside. I tried once inside and that was a disaster, what with spinning the hoop over my head and such.

My hoop mix this morning included vintage Missy Elliott this horrible/excellent song . This is my favorite hula hooper! Here she shares the secret to the booty bump move! I'll keep updating on my plan!

I recently picked up mu niece's hula hoop and could barely keep it up a few seconds. Need to work on my hip dance moves...good luck with your workout!
